DRZ STUFF
Did you just buy a Suzuki DRZ400S?
Do you want to take it off road?
There are a few things you are going to need to purchase in order to make it off-road worthy.
1. Change them tires! Those trailwings are good for the open road, not the open trail. If you want to get a good nobby tire that is still street legal, I recommend the Dunlop D606 or the Kenda Trackmaster II. Both are DOT approved. The Kenda is a little bit more aggressive for offroad though. You can purchase a set for a little over $100 from Rocky Mountain
2. Fix those foot pegs!, I recommend the IMS Pro Series foot pegs, The give you lots of grip and they are nice and big. You can purchase them for about $85 from Rocky Mountain. If you don't want to spend the money on new foot pegs, you can remove the rubber insert from the stock ones. That would be enough to give yourself some more grip.
3. You need Radiator Guards! The radiators on the DRZ are very fragile. If you dump your bike you have a good chance of crushing them. It will cost you $300 bucks for a new radiator. I recommend buying the Unabiker Radiator Guards. They are about $85.
4. You need some case guards. Your clutch and ignition cases are fragile. I poked a hole in mine and had to use some JB weld on it. It was a royal pain in the butt. To help protect the case I recommend CFC Case Guards. It will cost you about $50 for the set.
5. Get a skid plate. A skid plate combined with the CFC Case guards makes ultimate protection for your engine. The best skid plate on the market is the Tonn's Racing Iron Clad Skid Plate: $66.99. Another good skid plate is the Whitebrothers. I had one of these before the Tonn's Racing one. I have found that the Tonn's Racing Iron Clad skid plate is a better plate for protecting your engine.
6. Replace those bars! The handle bars on the DRZ are made from silly puddy. Get your self a good set of aluminum bars. I have Renthals, but there are many good ones out there. A lot of people like the Fat Bars: $50 bucks plus mounting hardware.
7. Another good mod that doesn't cost any money is to Grind off the pointy sharp edge on your shift lever. If you don't you will have problems like I did.

Once you have changed all this stuff out and added the protection your DRZ will be ready for off-road. If you fail to do any of these, your bike will break and maybe even your body.
